Salmon Creek Soccer Club and Skyview High School Girls’ coaching staff has agreed form an alliance to host a FREE training center for girls U8 teams for the coming fall season. This program is headed by Darin Degrande, the Girls’ Varsity Head Coach at Skyview High School.
The training center will be held every Wednesdays for six (6) sessions starting on August 31 for six weeks for Girls U8 teams. Remaining sessions dates will be September 7th; 14th; 21st; 28th and October 5th. The sessions will be held at Skyview High School soccer fields. This will be about one hour training that will start from 5:00-6:00pm and will focus principally on the development of basic fundamental soccer skills.
Our principal objective is to provide this pilot program to all our girls U8 teams and coaches and to encourage them to sign their teams to participate. The U8 team training center is free and will be set up in an Academy format. Players will be broken into groups of 4-6 players per station. The stations will be manned by high school varsity players and directed by the High School Girls’ coaching staff. Salmon Creek U8 team coaches are encouraged to attend and participate in these training sessions with their respective teams or attend to observe. The training curriculum will be designed Darin Degrande and his coaching staff at Skyview HS. This supplemental training is open to all U8 Girls teams in our Club.
We would like to thank Darin Degrande, Girls’ Varsity Coach at Skyview High School for his initiative and open outreach to our soccer community. Our Club U8 girls’ teams and coaches who are interested in signing their teams to be involved in this training program should contact Michelle Steiger (Club Business Manager) at scsc.business@salmoncreeksoccer.net.
