Score Reporting Procedure

U-6 thru U-8 scores are not recorded. All scores for games, ages U9 and above, are to be submitted immediately following the game by either the coach, team parent, or other designated team score reporter each week.

Scores are tabulated and submitted by 10 a.m. Sunday to Columbia Youth Soccer Federation for reconciliation before being submitted to the Columbian Newspaper for publication (U11 teams & above are reported for publication. U9 & U10 scores are utilized for proper division placement for those teams).

If a team's scores are not received by 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening following that day's game, the coach and/or team parent will be called only once to get the scores from that day's game, if it has not been reported. If no one can be reached, scores will be submitted without that team's report and/or the opposing team's score will be reported.

Score Reporting in 8 easy steps

  1. After your game, go to the score Reporting page at: http://salmoncreeksoccer.net/coaches/reporting/ (also linked under the coaches or referee links).
  2. If you are not already signed in, you'll be asked for a sign-in ID and password.
    1. The initial sign-in ID is the team name, all in lower case letters. So for example, the Salmon Creek Pride has a sign-in name of 'sc pride'. (Sign-in names are case sensitive and having them in all lower case avoids common sign-in problems).
    2. The initial password is the last 6 digits of the team number. So for example, a team number of 514226008, would have a password of 226008. (Passwords are stored in encrypted format on the server, and an effective encryption requires at least 6 characters).
  3. After signing in, you'll be presented with a game schedule.
    1. You can filter the schedule by team name from the pull-down list,

      OR
    2. You can filter the schedule by specific date by clicking on the day in the calendar in the upper right hand corner.
  4. Pick the game you want to report the score for by clicking on the game ID.
  5. You will get a form with two entries, the home team score, and the away team score. Enter the scores for each team.
  6. Hit the "submit" key.
  7. Check to make sure that the score you entered is reflected in the correct columns.
  8. If there is a duplicate score reported, and there is a conflict with a previous score reported for this game, an Email is sent to the scorekeeper who will work to resolve the problem.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Why do I have to sign-in?

By having you sign-in, we know who you are and already have the contact information for you. It is less typing, and should cause fewer entry errors.

Also note that the initial contact information for the sign-in is that of the head coach. You are welcome to change this, but we need to start somewhere.
  2. Can I change contact information?

Absolutely. After signing-in, select "Update Contact Information" in the left navigation menu. (You need to be signed in to see this).

We began with head coach information because we know who they are. Feel free to change this to meet your needs.
  3. Can I change the password?

Absolutely. After signing-in, select "Change Password" in the left navigation menu. (You need to be signed in to see this).
  4. What if there is already a score posted for my game?

Someone else has already reported the score; either that or someone reported a score for the wrong game. In any case, verify that the score is correct and if it is correct, you don't have to do anything further.

If the score is not correct, click on the game ID link, and enter the correct score. The application will detect a conflicting score and send an email with the details to the scorekeeper, who will likely be in contact with you and whoever reported the previous score to resolve the conflict.
  5. Why do I have one account here and another on the soccer registration page?

The registration page uses a commercial web tool. It works well for what it does, but it doesn’t manage game schedules and scores, and we cannot use it for authentication at this time.
  6. What if I lose my password?

On the sign-in page, there is a link for a lost password (or lost sign-in ID for that matter). Follow the instructions on that page, and a new password will be emailed to you within a few minutes.

The new password will be randomly generated, so you may want to consider changing it once you sign-in with it.
  7. Why the hassle?

The SCSC site now stores game schedules and scores in a database. The advantage of this is that there is no more manual HTML generation of scores or schedules. Once a score is entered, it is available to everyone.

More importantly, it makes the life of the scorekeeper much simpler. In the past the scorekeeper would have to sit down on Saturday night, collect all 100+ emails with reported scores, and manually transfer those scores to a spreadsheet. Now the scorekeeper signs in on Saturday night and transfers the day's scores directly into an excel spreadsheet. The main task then is to call those who haven't reported scores, and resolve conflicting score reports.
